An International Language Policy Association

Language policy is a well established area of research: it preceded the establishment of AILA itself, there have been countless international conferences and meetings devoted to the topic, there are several journals providing outlets for the extensive research, and a great number of books have been published. But there is no international organization specifically concerned with the field. Our purpose is to create such an organization.
This site, lpren.org, will build links between language policy scholars worldwide. As an AILA ReN, we will assemble the resources to nurture such a group, co-ordinating activities and the potential for more formal development. LPREN will link geographically-separated projects and allow a broader view of what happens in our field. The lpren.org network is open to any AILA member conducting research in the various fields of language policy and management. Join LPREN today.
